We are continually loving people to life. Rather than running from the world, we have chosen to harness it to connect with people and show them God's truth. Although Love City's culture is anything but traditional, we take a conservative theological position.

The Bible

The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human writers under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is complete in itself and is truth without any error. It is completely relevant to our daily lives.

The Trinity

God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. We believe in the existence of only one God, existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Father

We believe in a God who is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move, and exist. God is good. He is our heavenly Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.

The Son

Jesus Christ walked the earth fully human, but at the same time He is God. He bridges the gap between God and man and is the only plan for bringing people far from God back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect life so He could be a substitution for us on the cross and fully satisfy God's demands for perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection so we could have life.

The Holy Spirit

His presence assures us of a relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin and makes them aware of God's righteousness and the coming judgement. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ. Evidence of the Holy Spirit is seen in the fruits of the Holy Spirit, speaking in unknown tongues, gifts of the Holy Spirit, etc.

Eternity

Human beings were created to exist forever. We believe in only two possible destinies: separation from God by sin (hell) or union with God through forgiveness and salvation (heaven).

Humanity

Humans are made in the image of God and are the supreme object of His creation. We were created to have fellowship with God, but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, we cannot attain a right relationship with God through our own efforts. Every human is uniquely created by God, possesses dignity, and deserves respect and Christian love.

Salvation

The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sins. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned through our own efforts.

The Church

The church is a local community of baptized believers unified through faith in Christ. We are committed to the teachings of Christ, to obeying all of His commands, and to bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to the world. The church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

FIVE – FOLD MINISTRY

The five-fold ministry positions of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are gifts given to each local church and the universal church. These gifts are for the equipping of believers to spread the gospel of Christ. We believe both men and women are sovereignly chosen by God for these ministry positions.

Baptism

Baptism is a symbolic act to publicly profess one's salvation. It is commanded by God, but our salvation is not reliant upon it. We believe biblical baptism involved full immersion in water, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us. We require anyone who wants to be baptized to complete a short baptism class to make sure they fully understand what baptism is and why it is significant.

Prayer

Prayer is our ability to communicate with God. Because of the salvation offered by Jesus Christ, we no longer need an intercessor to go between God and us; we can address God directly.
